Incarcerated

I am sitting here trying to think of something exciting and/or profound to write . . . . . . . I'm drawing a blank! Today was a pretty normal day - no drama!

L stopped by briefly tonight to pick up some of her Senior Pictures. She got a letter in the mail yesterday from our of the guys she hung around with about a year and a half ago - one of the Kirkland rats. You're probably thinking - wow an actual letter I thought kids these days only communicated via text or Internet. Well there is a reason why it was in letter form - you see this friend of hers - Mikey - is a "guest" at the Washington Correctional Institute in Shelton. He will be there for the next 9 - 12 years. You see - Mikey wanted to be accepted by this group of guys he wanted to hang around with so one night in 2007 while driving around with these "friends" he decided to jump a guy - stab him - and take his iPod. He stabbed a guy who was walking home - this person survived - after he stabbed him they drove off but then decided to come back and see if the iPod was still at the scene. It wasn't but the cops were there waiting for them. L's attitude concerns me - she still feels like oh poor Mikey. He sent along a form for L to fill out so she could be put on his visitor list. She filled it out and is sending it back along with a letter and pictures. I guess at least he's in jail for 9 years so it's not like he's going to be hanging around any time soon.
