Yay!!
L got a job! She will be working part-time at the Mongolian Grill on the Plateau. I have never eaten there but I'm told it's good - you take a bowl and fill it with ingredients you want stir fried and give it to them to cook - they return it with rice in the bowl. She gets trained tomorrow and will be working M, Tu, and Th 11:00 - 4:00. One of her friends works there and told the Manager about her - she applied on Sunday - interviewed today - got the job. They really needed someone that could work the lunch hours during the week.
Feeling a little better today than yesterday. Currently I am baking treats for Kim's B-day tomorrow at work. Brownie Cups w/two different toppings to choose from - White Chocolate or Chocolate Mousse - and fresh strawberries to put on top or just eat with. Haven't decided how this is going to work. I think I will make the toppings tonight and bring them with me to work - I can either put it all together or have a build your own brownie bar, We'll see.

I'm On The Mend
I am still on a bland diet - if anyone has any good suggestions on something that is tasty yet bland please let me know! Moved up to a plain baked potato for dinner - Yummy!! I know you're all jealous!
It's quiet at home tonight - L is gone. She was really great on Friday coming to get me and drive me to the ER. Not so great at keeping things down so I could rest at home. So - nice to enjoy some quiet and I will probably head to bed soon. Although, one of the meds has to be taken every 8 hours - the next one is at 10pm.
I'm going to go strip my bed - get some clean sheets - and get some sleep.

I Love Axel Foley!!
- 21 - not my age! This would be the number of days I have been sick
- 70 - this was the top number when they took my blood pressure at the doctor's yesterday right before they made me lay down before I fell down.
- 1000821234 - the wonderful number on yet another beautiful plastic bracelet - this time courtesy of Swedish Hospital ER located in Issaquah. Maybe I can sell my collection on eBay!
- 4 - The number of hours I was at the ER for tests and to get IV fluids. They are really nice there. L picked me up from the doctors office and drove me to the ER. She stayed with me except for when I sent her out to get herself something to eat once I was hooked up to the IV and knew I would be there for at least another hour.
- 14 - my white blood cell count. They consider 10 to be high so my body is definitely fighting off some kind of infection.
I'm gonna finish watching Axel and go back to sleep.

Where oh Where
My blogs used to be entertaining and sometimes even funny . . lately they aren't . . . . . I think I may have lost my funny bone! Either that or someone took it . . . .
I am just having trouble finding the humor in things lately . . . work . . . my unemployed tenant . . . . stupid Washington drivers that seem to forget how to drive when that wet stuff comes down from the sky and lands on their windshields and the road . . no humor in that one just plain old frustration . . I mean really . . you live in Washington State for God's Sake . . . it rains a lot and you're telling me by the way you crept down the Plateau Hill this morning that you can't drive in this stuff cuz it happens so rarely . . move somewhere desert like!! Told Ya . . . No Funny Bone!
Going to bed . . . .

Congratulations go out to my niece Krystina - Criminal Justice Student of the Year!!

Horses!
I spent all day Saturday with Lyd. We went to the barn and I got to meet the new four-legged baby Sweet Pea! She is so cute and Sweet Cheeks is such a good Mama. I brought Sweet Cheeks a congratulations gift of a bunch of organic carrots - I gave her a couple before I went in to the stall to see the baby. I have a very healthy respect for Sweet Cheeks because a year ago she knocked me flat on my ass!! So after I gave her the offering of sweet carrots she had no problem with me coming in to see Sweet Pea. I have never been close to a filly before. She is so soft and their tails are like a deers tail - short and fluffy - not like a horses tail. They are like human babies in that they are not born with teeth - she does like to nip at things though as you can see in the picture she is trying to eat my jacket! She is only a week old but very active and fast - she almost got me when she kicked when they were out in the pasture. I used the recording part on my camera for the first time and created this video of Sweet Cheeks and Sweet Pea out in the pasture. (The video seems to get stuck buffering . . . I am working on fixing this)**UPDATE - See next post for better video**
After spending time with the horses we went to lunch at Claim Jumper by Southcenter Mall. On the way there I saw a car in front of us with the personalized license plate BUGGA! I only know of one BUGGA so we sped up and got along side - sure enough it was Auntie Jan driving! We honked and she turned her head - not sure whether she recognized me or not. I need to give her a call to see if she knew it was me honking at her. After lunch we went in to Babies R Us - so many cute things - and lots of cool stuff they never had when L was a baby. Next stop was Southcenter Mall to go shopping for Maternity Clothes - and yes - they had so much more than what they had 19 years ago! Made me want to be pregnant again - except for that little thing about having to raise another baby!
Sunday - on the couch under my new Snuggie making the horse video! Everyone needs a lazy day every once in awhile.

I Have A "Wife"
After dinner we hung out on the couch and watched some TV and some comedy videos on YouTube. It was so relaxing and enjoyable. I keep telling her that she just doesn't understand how much this has meant to me. To come home and have this done without any nagging. I feel so calm and relaxed now in the living room - not cranky. It's wonderful.
I recommend a stay at home housewife to everyone! I will definitely enjoy mine while she's here.

Vacation or Sick Time
People at work today asked me how my vacation was - can you really call it a vacation when you are sick the whole time? It was in a different state - I did have to fly to get there - but I spent most of the time sleeping.
I did some site seeing - saw the wonderful E-Care office in McKinney Texas. As far as urgent care offices go this was very comfortable. Nice chairs, a TV set, "plants", and windows looking out on to the road. The intake area wasn't too bad - this is the place where they ask you questions and give you a very nice paper bracelet with your name printed on it and your date of birth - would prefer not to be advertising my age to everyone but it did go with everything. The next room was the actual exam room - ok chair and a nice padded table covered in beautiful white paper. I spent quite a long time just hanging out in this room. Thank goodness there was cell service - I was able to text Colleen and let her know what was going on. After waiting for 30/45 minutes - the Doctor came bustling in - listened to my lungs - looked at my throat - and bustled right back out - was able to see her for all of 5 minutes! Did a quick little breathing treatment and was able to leave.
Next site - the 24 hour Walgreen's right across the street! Location - location - location! Who ever did the planning on that one got it right - a 24 hour pharmacy right next to the E-Care! If you've ever been in a Walgreen's then you know exactly how this one looked - they all have the same exact lay out - cosmetics on the left - pharmacy in the back right corner - aisles in the front for candy and seasonal items - all sorts of health items in the back by the pharmacy - photo center in the front off to the right. We wandered the aisles for a bit and then waited for them to call my name. They were actually pretty quick.
Next stop - Musielak House and the couch where I would spend a good part of my "vacation". When I got there and walked in - Tony stood up and told the kids to get up and come on - they all stood up and walked to the far side of the family room and pointed to the stairs! I sat on the couch, we had Domino's pizza for dinner, I took a Nyquil and was down for the count.
As soon as I get an email from either Lindsay or Krystina with pictures from the Kidd Kraddick Show I will write some more about that visit.
I did come to the conclusion that we need 3 new restaurants up here in Washington
- Texas Roadhouse - really good beef, when they get your order correct, and the rolls with cinnamon butter that they give you through out the meal are really good.
- Einsteins - great bagel shop. I had an egg sandwich on a plain bagel with ham and swiss! Colleen had The Elvis - peanut butter, bananas, and honey on your choice of bagel.
- Sonic Drive In - Didn't have any regular food but I did have a few Lemon Berry slushies and one night I had a banana split. Anyone want to buy in to a franchise with me!!

083261
Nope - not the number of minutes I spent on a Southwest Airlines airplane today - the Greyhound Service of the air! I flew from Seattle to Denver - changed planes - then the plane I was on stopped in Tulsa, OK to let people off and bring people on and then we finally went to Dallas. Thought I was never going to get here!
Not the number of miles travelled to get to Texas. Quite the roundabout way to get here.
Not the weight of my suitcase! I am getting better at packing - was able to get everything in to a carry-on size suitcase and I could still carry it!!
It's the patient ID I received when Colleen had to take me to E-Care once I got off the airplane- note to friends and family - not a good idea to fly when you are coming down with bronchitis! I was feeling fine when I got up in the morning - just no voice and a sore throat - but I felt better than I had the previous days so I figured I was on the mend. I don't know if it was from the altitude changes, the recycled air, or a combination of both - but when I got off the plane in Dallas and started walking to go find Colleen I found that I was having trouble breathing - and not just a little - I think I now know what it's like to have an asthma attack! I got to the car and told Colleen that I didn't want to start the vacation off on the wrong foot but I think we needed to go to an urgent care center. I landed at 410 Dallas Time - 210 Seattle Time - we got to E-Care about 530 and by 630 I was getting a breathing treatment and finally able to get some oxygen in my lungs. Next stop was Walgreens to pick-up 3 prescriptions, some Dayquil/Nyquil, and some throat spray. It was a great start to my vacation!
I would have posted this last night but I have never had Nyquil before and within about 10 minutes of taking it I was knocked out!!
Friday - felt better this morning so we kept our plan of going to go see the Kidd Kraddick in the Morning show!! It was fantastic!! We had to sit outside their studios - they have big glass windows so you can see everything. Part way through they surprised us that they had a Music That Makes You Cooler performer, Jessie James, and we got to go inside to the Canal Street Lounge and listen to her sing two songs. We got to shake hands with Big Al Mack and J-Si. Then it was back outside. We were going to head home but decided to stay for one more set. I'm glad we did because when the show was over they all came outside to say Hi - let us take pictures with them, and signed T-shirts for us!! I will post pictures later! It was incredible! I told Kidd that I came all the way form Seattle to see him and he said No Way and gave me a Big Hug. He said really you came just to see us - Colleen told him that she had asked me what I wanted to do when I was down here and that I had said I wanted to see Kidd Kraddick and go to The Roadhouse for dinner!
After the show we found a Starbucks and then went to Einsteins Bagels for a late breakfast. Einsteins was great! I had an Egg Sandwich with Ham and Swiss on a Plain Bagel. I wish we had an Einsteins in Washington.
I slept the rest of the day and I'm feeling a ton better. When I woke up I sent Jeffrey to Sonic to get me a Lemon Berry Slush and told him he could get whatever he wanted. It tastes so good! We are having spaghetti for dinner - Colleen and Lindsay have long runs tomorrow so they need to eat pasta tonight. Tony is off teaching baseball lessons right now.
Don't know what the plans are for tomorrow but I will keep you posted!

Yee Haw!
Muppet looked so sad when I dropped her off :( - I am sure she had been practicing those sad little looks all day. It broke my heart. I hope that as soon as I left she settled in. I hope she doesn't get depressed and not eat while I'm gone. It's like sending your child off to sleep away camp for the first time. I will have to keep myself from calling the vets everyday to see how she's doing.
I am doing a little better this evening. The bad, horrible cough has gotten a little better - it has left behind a very sore, dry throat so I can't really talk right now. I also have a very stuffy head/nose - BJ told me though that when you go up in a plane the atmosphere pressure actually relieves the pressure in your head and you feel so much better. Of course, once you come back down it all comes rushing back in to your head and sinuses. Hopefully I am on the mend and not on my way to strep throat or anything like that. Hey Colleen - do you have an Urgent Care near your house in case I need a Doctor!! I will probably need to make many, many trips to Sonic for icy, slushy drinks!
Quick Updates:
- L has not found a job yet . . . . I don't even think she is looking right now.
- Lyd's horse Sweet Cheeks hasn't had the foal yet . . . . . . I'm sure it will be born while I'm out of town.
I am bringing my computer with me to Texas so I will be updating the blog to let y'all know what's happening down South!
De
**UPDATE** L left around 830 and I successfully installed the new lock!! There was only one small issue . . . never close the door you are working on to check the latch until you have hooked up the handles!! I thought for a minute there I had locked myself inside the house!! All is ggod and it works wonderfully.

White, Fluffy, and Cold . . . In Other Words . . . . Damn Snow!
I am heading to Texas on Thursday - thought I would be able to enjoy some nice weather - but this cold front is following me down there. Thurs - Dallas rainy and 42, Seattle sunny and 48 . . . Fri - Dallas cloudy and 49, Seattle sunny and 49!!
Yesterday I went to La Conner to visit my Mom and Dad - they were down from Canada for a week - I hadn't seen them since Christmas. We had a nice lunch and it was good to see them. I made the drive up and back in one day - it actually wasn't that bad - no traffic and Muppet was good company in the car.
My body has been fighting off a virus for over a month now - it's been hanging out in my sinuses - yesterday I think my immune system took a day off because I woke up this morning with it settled very securely in my chest. Coughing, coughing - whoever sits next to me on the plane Thursday is not going to be happy! I hope I feel better by then - crappy weather and being sick is not what I had planned when I decided to take a vacation.
This is a boring blog today - I really feel like crap - I am just going to grab a bite of dinner and go to bed.

Snow Again
It was so sunny and warm when I got home from work yesterday - Muppet and I went on a walk - well, it was a drive and a walk! I needed to run some errands down at the Klahanie QFC Center but I knew Muppet would never make it all the way down there and back - I didn't want to be carrying her the mile back home. So - we drove to the halfway point - Mountainview Pool - parked the car and walked to the center! We stopped by PetPros - the girls there love it when Muppet comes by to visit - then we needed to go to the Vets to pick up her meds. She didn't really like that - I'm sure she thought she was going to get poked and prodded - that will be next week. They need to run a blood screen on her before the next time they refill her meds and she is due for 2 shots - she is going to be staying there while I'm in Texas so I told them to just do everything then. I asked the gal at the front desk if she would get attention while staying there and she said - you don't know how many girls work here, we will all be wanting to hold her and play with her. Yay! This is the first time she has ever stayed away form the house without me - I am a nervous Mom!
Today I am going to head down in to town to run by the Post Office and then by the big Starbucks down there to just have a drink and read my book. Hopefully I will get a call from Lyd saying that her horse Sweet Cheeks is having her foal - I have the directions to the barn - I probably won't make it in time to see the birth but I can see the new baby! I was supposed to be going to dinner with the 40 Something Club but it has been moved due to the Organizer having to go out of town. Oh well, I will run my errands and do some chores - maybe start packing for Texas - I certainly won't be wearing any of the clothes here this week!
Off to shower and run errands. Enjoy the weekend.

Baking, Baking, Baking
Divina brought me a sack of very ripe bananas today so I am now baking Banana Muffins! I have tasted one already and they turned out really good! There are a couple people at work that don't like Banana Muffins so I am baking cookies too! Y'all know what baking means - I need to destress and unwind - my co-workers get a nice snack at work tomorrow! While baking I have been watching Survivor too - is it just me or does it seem that the last few seasons one of the tribes has just dominated the competition. I remember in the earlier seasons it seemed that there was more back and forth so when the merge happened they were pretty even. It just doesn't seem like that anymore. Well - at least the dominate team this season finally lost a challenge- I was hoping they would because Sandy was really getting on my nerves and they so needed to get rid of her - which they did!
I went in to pull some cookies out of the oven and Buffy was up on the counter - not eating cookies or muffins - No - she was licking the tub of butter!! Gross!! L used to do that when she was little but I have never had an animal who liked butter.
Tomorrow is Friday and in 7 days I will be in Texas!!

Miley
I can almost see it
That dream I’m dreaming but
There’s a voice inside my head sayin,
You’ll never reach it,
Every step I’m taking,
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking but I
Got to keep trying
Got to keep my head held high
There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb
The struggles I’m facing,
The chances I’m taking
Sometimes they knock me down but
No I’m not breaking
The pain I’m knowing
But these are the moments that
I’m going to remember most yeah
Just got to keep going
And I,
I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on,
There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb
There’s always going to be another mountain
I’m always going to want to make it move
Always going to be an uphill battle,
Sometimes you going to have to lose,
Ain’t about how fast I get there,
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb
Keep on moving
Keep climbing
Keep the faith baby
It’s all about
It’s all about
The climb
Keep the faith
Keep your faith

A Little Whine With This Post
I got up this morning and a tastebud on the tip of my tongue is irritated so it hurts when I talk and eat. I sound like I have a lisp. Jackie and Bender are on vacation this week so morning radio sucks this week. I took Muppet outside this morning and got mud on my shoe. Then, when I got to work I realized I had put on the wrong bra to go with the shirt I was wearing so I spent the whole day having to shift my shirt around so my straps didn't show. 830 is Starbucks time and when BJ asked if I was ready to go I couldn't find my wallet in my purse and then I realized I didn't have my phone either. So between having uncomfortable clothes, no phone, not knowing where my wallet was, and it being Month End I was having a very oh poor me day! I got home and thought I could unwind in front of the TV watching my new favorite show NCIS but it's a rerun tonight - all the shows are reruns tonight. I was going to have cereal for dinner but can't because L used up all the milk - and left all her pots and pans around the kitchen and didn't take out the garbage like she said she would.
On a good note I did find my wallet in my car between my seat and the middle console.

Question: Yesterday I bought some cookies from the little Girl Scouts outside my QFC - I'm a sucker for the poor girls outside the grocery stores. Anyways - I said I would take 2 boxes of the chocolate chip cookies. The mom of one of the girls did a quick up and down look of me and said - You know those are Sugar Free right? Was she making a veiled smart ass remark in regards to the fact that I don't look like I eat Sugar-Free anything or was she just being informative?

Fight Club
Right now I just got done eating spaghetti and watching Wheel of Fortune - spaghetti tasted so good tonight and there is enough for leftovers tomorrow! I am now going to watch a bit of Jeopardy - or as L used to call it when she was little Jefferney Alex - and reconcile some expense reports that I brought home to work on. I have an appointment tomorrow at 430 so I have to leave work by 330 - Month End so I need to make sure I get all my work done.

Before!
After!
Tomorrow starts the Month End cycle - really early days - stress to meet deadlines - I feel like we haven't even finished closing out 2008 or January - the auditors have been here since the beginning of the year going over 2008 close. Not sure if they will be gone this week or not.
Fun times!
