Oh where do I start - Last night at 1130 L woke me up to tell me that there was a police officer in our living room and that he needed to talk to me. That's right! I was a little disoriented and L wasn't making a whole lot of sense so I got up - looked down the hall - and yup there was an officer standing with the "stray" L had brought home and had been staying in our house since Monday. He introduced himself as Officer MacDonald with the Black Diamond police. He asked me if I knew that she was a runaway! No I didn't. Did I know that I could be arrested for harbouring a runaway? I just stared. He asked me if a person named Collin had been here? I had to think about that one a bit - oh yeah Colin is Panda's real name - so yes he had been here. Officer MacDonald told me that that was not a good thing. Did I know that Bre was only 15 and that Colin was 20? He then asked me how old L was - she will be 18 on Sunday. He looked at L and said she was old enough to know that there was something going on. L said she didn't know that Bre was a runaway - that Bre had told her and Colin that her Mom knew where she was and that she just needed some space. Bre told the cop that we didn't know. He said she had left a note on a mirror telling her Mom she was leaving. She had been missing since Monday. All this time L had been on the phone and Bre was stuffing clothes in her backpack and putting her jeans on over her shorts. Officer asked L if it was Colin on the phone and told her to hang up. Then he had Bre hold out her arms and he checked her pockets to make sure there wasn't anything in them - had her put her belt in her backpack - and then he cuffed her. He then said to me that there was more going on here than just a simple runaway and off they went.
L hugged me and said she had no idea that Bre was a runaway - she would never do anything that would get me in trouble. I then asked her how they knew Bre was at our house. Bre's Mom had been calling Colin's cell to find Bre and he wouldn't tell her where she was. The cops then called him and took him in to custody. In order to save himself from getting into too much more trouble he told them he knew where she was and directed them to our house. He rode in the squad car and showed them where we lived. L said her and Bre were out on the back deck and heard someone knocking on the door. They didn't answer it - Colin called L's cell phone and asked her where they were - she said at home - he said you need to answer the door - she thought it was him so they opened the door to find the cop. He then asked if a parent was home and that's when she came and woke me up.
After the cop left L said that Colin may have to come up and stay with us for the night - I said uh NO WAY! She said that he didn't have his car and that the cops were going to just let him go up here. I told her I didn't think they were going to do that and even if they did he was not welcome to stay in our house. Ends up that Colin left with the cops. I told L that she needed to stop bringing home the strays because next time it might not turn out like this that we could both be in trouble.
When I woke up this morning I didn't remember what had happened for the first few seconds and then it all came rushing back - I was like OMG! Before I left for work I checked in on L in her room - yup - she was the only one in there sound asleep.

- Putting on a jacket you haven't worn in awhile and finding money in the pocket.
- Waking up at 600 in the morning and realizing it's Saturday.

Post Office
The US Postal Service has not been my friend this week. Sometimes they are very aggravating. I ordered some books from Barnes and Noble - they were sent out on 4/29 - the USPS website has had the same tracking message since then - The USPS has been notified to pick up your package on 4/29 - hasn't been updated since so I have no idea where my books are. Then - I sent out a package last Thursday and it hasn't arrived in Texas yet - again the website has had the same message for a couple days - Your package left our Santa Clara office on 5/4 - OK great - where has it been since then and why is it hanging out in CA instead of going to Texas. Aaaaaaaaahhhhhh! Very frustrating! I let Krystina know yesterday that I had sent her a package for her finals week but it seems to be taking the long way there - her last set of exams is tomorrow and the package still isn't there. I guess it will be an after finals package. One of the books I ordered was going to be a gift also but seeing as I have no idea where it is I will have to come up with something else. Just not my week for getting things in the mail.
Watching ANTM (America's Next Top Model) right now - down to the final 4 and I only like 1 of the models that is left. I'm not sure how she did tonight so I am a little worried. They are critiquing them right now - i don't think the judges liked any of them tonight - this seasons group just doesn't seem to get it -not that I'm one to talk as I have never modeled - I am like the armchair quarterback of modeling! Commercial right now - so we will get back to ANTM in a sec.
Got home tonight and L's friend "Disco" was still here - yup L let her stay in our house by herself while she went to work. She is so trusting it is ridiculous. When L got home they were in her room for a bit and then she asked me what I was thinking of for dinner - told her I was going to cook a hamburger and she was all oh - then they decided to leave and go see if they could find something to eat - I guess the food in the kitchen wasn't good enough for them tonight - I am pretty sure she wanted me to order them a pizza - not gonna happen - I spend way too much on groceries - not gonna have all this food in the house and then order out .
Oooohh - ANTM is back and my girl was named out 2 so she makes it to the final 3 for next week! Yay!! And double Yay - the one that has been irritating me all season was let go!! She has been all cocky and saying she was the one who was going to win and putting down the other girts so I am very glad she is gone.
L just got home with her friend - i have a feeling she is here for the night again. Do these people not have parents!!

Long Day - Interesting Bus Ride
Ah - interrupted sleep last night and a very long day at work. Muppet had a seizure last night at midnight. I woke up to her falling off the bed - I jumped up and went to get her and that's when I realized she was having a seizure - she tends to fall off the bed a lot so I wasn't sure until I got over to her - she then wandered around the house for 1/2 an hour. I finally got her to calm down a little and I put back on the bed. She could not settle down and walked all over the bed for about another 1/2 hour so we got back to sleep close to 200. Today at work was my day with 2 deadlines that require a lot of running reports and creation of spreadsheets. I was there for 11 hours. When I left work I had about 7 minutes to try and get to my bus - when I got to my final cross street the sign was don't walk and my bus was already at the stop - the next one wouldn't come for another 1/2 hour and I so did not want to have to hang out - So I cross the street finally but the bus had already pulled away from the curb - the driver must have noticed my dejected look because she opened the doors - I walked quickly to climb up onto the bus - as I was getting on the light must have turned green because the driver closed the doors before I was all the way up the stairs - did I mention that I was hanging on to the handle on the door while I was climbing the stairs - when she closed the door it twisted my wrist and she started driving at the same time so I fell against part of the bus. I think maybe next time I'll just wait for the next bus!
Got home and just wanted to have a quiet early evening - not gonna happen. L informed me that her friend Panda and Disco (another raver name I believe) were on their way over. They showed up with some other guy and are just hangin in the house now - I am hangin out in my room because they are playing Wii out in the living room. They haven't gotten too loud yet - although it smells like they were trying to make toast or something because I can smell something burning - hope they don't set the condo on fire I really want a good nights sleep!
L turns 18 in 4 days - she mostly wants cash - gift cards - and a tattoo! So - do I just give her cash and if she decides to get a tattoo with it so be it - or do I go with her to get the tattoo? Any thoughts?
Hard to believe that this Mother's Day I will have been a Mom for 18 years. At times it has felt like it went by really fast and others it seems like a lifetime. L was looking at pictures on Sunday - she was such a cute baby with really soft curls and a cheesy grin like you wouldn't believe. I miss that little girl - I wish I hadn't had to work then so I could have spent more time with her - maybe things would have been different. well as they say - hindsight is 20-20 and shoulda coulda woulda won't get you anywhere.

Cinco de Mayo
Wow - what happened to the time - it must be that disturbance in the force that occurred on Saturday! One minute I was blogging on Saturday and the next thing I know I'm at work on a Monday! Things have not corrected themselves yet - and I think I caught L's ADD over the weekend. I started cleaning my room on Saturday and then I got distracted by a show on the discovery channel about Tuna fishing off Australia - see not only was I distracted but I was watching The Discovery Channel - that's just not normal. Then I went grocery shopping - came home - never did get back to the room! Sunday I started on it again but didn't quite get it finished - I have a lot of paper that needs to be shredded and I'm a pack rat! Luckily there is a Klahanie wide garage sale at the end of the month and I am going to try and sell my stuff! One persons junk is another persons treasures!
L went to a Rave again on Saturday and she came home Sunday at 5:30 am! At least she came home! She did bring Panda with her but at least I knew where she was. They slept until 5:00 pm - after Panda left L came and hung out in my room - I know! See another thing that points to the world being a little upside down topsy turvy! We looked through her baby book and mine and she looked through pictures! She pulled out a picture of her T-Ball team the Giants and I hear her say - OMG! - I think Blake was on this team. Blake is someone that she met this year and has been hanging out with a bit - she called him and he came over - yup it was him! Small world - they thought they had just met but in reality they have known each other since they were 7! Too Funny!
In the mail today L got another overdraft notice from her bank. She's just like - oh well - and tosses it aside - she was supposed to get paid today but says the checks weren't ready. I need her to get paid because I was not strong this past month and I loaned her some money. I know I know!! I shouldn't have done that and if I don't get paid back it's my own fault. I just hope she does pay me back. Any suggestions on how to get an almost 18 year-old to learn how to manage her money. Next month she has to start paying rent and her phone bill - things are not going to go well. Oh - do you feel that - I think things are starting to go back to the way they have always been - me stressing and worrying and L just hangin out! Now if I could just get my room clean!
Have you ever had Chik-fil-a? They don't have any here but I just discovered yesterday that McDonalds has a new Southern Style Chicken sandwich that tastes just like Chik-fil-a!! Bun - Chicken - Pickles!! Yum Yum!!

Another Dimension!
I think I have entered another dimension - a different time and space - possibly the twilight zone! Why, you may be asking. Well, what has happened could never have happened in this dimension - and if it did it must have created a tear in the time and space continuum! L's room and bathroom are cleaner than mine! This has never happened before - how did this happen now! It's just not possible! I am the clean one - I am the organized one - I am the compulsive one - I am now the messy one! It's just so hard for me to comprehend - to understand - to wrap my brain around! Our roles have been inexplicably turned around - aaaahhhhhhhh!!!
Any guesses on what I am going to be doing today!! I must turn this around - I must put things back to their rightful place in time and space. If I don't who knows what might happen - President Bush could start making smart decisions - the democrats might actually choose who their candidate will be - L could become the responsible one in this relationship!!!

The Greatness That Is . . . . . . . .
Neil Diamond!!! OMG! Neil Diamond is going on tour again and he is headed to Seattle on Sept 24th!! I am so incredibly excited! Tickets go on sale this Monday at 10am and I will be online with Ticketmaster ready to make my purchase! And.....my Mom and Dad are giving that to me for my birthday! I will be purchasing 3 tickets on Monday and we will be having a diamond love fest in September!! This has become a Boyd Girl tradition - minus my sister who is not a Diamond fan which I just can't understand- this time my Dad will be going with us. I am a true die hard fan - I have seen him in concert 7 times!!! My first time was in Pullman at WSU and he was great - Forever in Blue Jeans Babe! The last time was 2 years ago with my Mom - and he was just as incredible, energetic, and sexy as he was that first time! That man is just so timeless and wonderful! I will keep going to see him as long as he is touring!De
