Dog Blog

Hello everyone - this is Muppet. My Mom is a little tired tonight so while she is resting I'm going to write a bit. Life around here has been interesting.

You might think a dogs life is easy - eating, sleeping, going outside for a quick break - but there's a lot more that I do. When my Mom and I go outside I have to lead her around quickly to make sure I show her the exact spot I want to be at. Sometimes I have to pace back and forth 3 or 4 times sniffing to make sure I get the spot just right. I like to quickly switch directions and see if she can keep up with me!

Last night I had to protect her. L, my sissy, was very mad at Mom - I'm not sure what she was yelling about but she scared my Mom so I laid in Mom's lap and looked at L to let her know that I was keeping my Mom safe. After L left the house Mom took me outside, but I didn't make her stay out for very long and when we went to bed I kissed her toes and snuggled up to her to let her know I was watching out for her.

Tonight is very quiet - L isn't home and Mom is resting. One of the cats that lives in the house with us isn't feeling well - she had accidents in L's bathroom and then she threw up on the rug after Mom got home. Mom fixed up some of the Niki's meds with some egg - Niki didn't want to eat it - I snuck into the kitchen and started eating eat! Mom caught me though - I gave her that "who me" look but I had egg on my face - literally! Ooops - darn long hair around my mouth!

Last Saturday Mom made me go to the groomers - she said I needed a hair cut. I thought I looked fine - see - the wind blowing through my hair - I was happenin! A Hot Pup! She told the groomer to give me a short cut for the summer. OMG! I look bald - all my beautiful locks sheared right off my body. Mom says I look like a puppy again and it took years off me. I don't know - I feel a bit naked and when the wind blows I have no hair so instead of lookin cute I'm just cold! What do you think?

Mom is watching that dancing show right now - SYTYCD. She seems to like all of the dancers that are left except for some guy who smiles too big named Thayne and his partner Comfort. I dance for Mom every night when she comes home from work - I think she likes my moves the best!

Well - I'm going to try and corral Mom into the bedroom so we can get some sleep. She looks really tired - I think the long hours last week at work and the drama with L last night have taken their toll on her.

L and her Temper

Boy does L have a temper! When things don't go as planned or her way she can get very ugly. I used to get really mad when plans changed or things didn't work out. I could feel it building up in the pit of my stomach and then - whamo it would come busting out. I have it under control now - but boy L does not. Poor girl gets that temper from both sides of her family. She never stood a chance! Her temper today was the result of her having plans - then not having plans - then having plans again - then those changing - and then finally settled on plans. Of course the plans involved me driving her and Jenny to the Park and Ride. Silly me let myself get talked into driving her there but that's a whole nother story! So we go to Jenny's house and L gets out of the car so she can - as she put it - straighten Jenny out. Jenny must have been changing her mind about the plans which put L in the bad mood. Jenny's friend Sean was there. Now here's where the story gets a little interesting. I'll explain what happened and see if you draw the same conclusions that I did! L and Jenny are talking next to Sean's car - Sean gets out of the car - walks to the back of the car - opens the trunk and takes out a small case which he proceeds to carry back to the front of his car and he gets back in. L then gets in the car and is in there for a few minutes. She then gets out of the car - Sean gets out, walks back to the trunk, opens it, and puts the case back in. Soooooooo - what conclusions did you draw about this little "transaction" Yeah - that's what I thought too!!!

So L and Jenny get back into my car and we head to the park and ride. Now - when we left our place we had a good 15 - 20 minutes before the bus they wanted to catch was going to leave. So we are driving and L starts getting very agitated and starts complaining to me about the route I took to the PR - I told her beggars can't be choosers and asked if she wanted to walk. Now we she is starting to use that wonderfully colorful language that she likes so much - As we are pulling up to the park and ride I see the bus - as we pull into the parking garage - the bus pulls away!! L and Jenny get out of the car and L just slams the door and starts swearing. I was so tempted to roll my window down and give her a piece of my mind but decided that wasn't going to do any good and it would just piss her off more and start a big scene. What would I have said to her - Oh how about - If you hadn't spent so much time in Jenny's driveway "conducting business" you would have made it to your bus on time!!

On a different note - Muppet has made it 48 hours without a seizure!! She was very happy to see me when I got home tonight. She didn't dance for me but I did get a happy tail wag and some little kisses! It is probably going to take some time for her to get her dancing legs back.

OMG!! She just made me laugh out loud! She is sleeping on the couch and she just snored really loud! It was so loud that it woke her up and she looked around to see who or what made that noise and looked at me like - who huh what was that?!?! You know what - my Granddaddy used to do the same thing and my Dad still does!!

Signing off ~

Breakfast For 1

Muppet had a "hair" appt this morning so it was an early start for a Sunday. She decided to get up even earlier though by having a seizure at 7 this morning. I debated whether or not to still take her to the groomers but her hair had gotten so long that I couldn't wait another week to get it cut. She was very clingy when we got there - it was like dropping a 3 year old off at day care - I felt like such a bad Mom! But she does look so cute now! I love it when she gets groomed because she looks like a puppy. Don't you think she's adorable!

While Muppet was at the groomer's I did something I haven't ever done - I went out to breakfast by myself. This may not sound like a very big deal but it is very hard to just go and sit in a restaurant by yourself. I almost didn't do it but I really wanted to just sit somewhere and have breakfast - I haven't gone out for breakfast in a long time and I had to convince myself not to let something like being alone stop me from doing something I wanted. I drove up and down Gilman
Blvd and then finally turned in to the Denny's parking lot. I got out and strode right in and said 1 please. I sat down - placed my order and pulled out a book. I kept glancing around to see if people were staring at the lonely girl at the table but everyone seemed to be involved in their own conversations. See - no one else noticed me so there was nothing to have stressed out about. It was a very good breakfast! When I looked at my ticket to pay my bill it showed - Your Server Today Was Jesus - OK I know you pronounce it "heysoos" but I still think it was a sign.

This next week starts quarter end at my job so I may not be able to post as much as I usually do. It can get pretty hectic and most of my items are due at the beginning - long hours and stress city!
